On March 17 we will have a special presentation by the Jews for Jesus in our worship service. “Christ in the Passover” is a powerful and effective way to see Jewish roots of the work of Jesus, our Messiah. The Session has approved a special offering to be taken for the work of this great, evangelistic ministry. Our 4-year olds will still be excused to go the the Nursery but the kindergarten children who normally attend Children’s Church will remain in the sanctuary to observe the Passover lesson. We have been learning about the Passover and Lord’s Supper in our CC classes for the past 3 weeks in preparation for the Jews for Jesus “Seder.”
K.I.C.K. will be filling the plastic Easter eggs this Sunday, March 10, so donations of Easter candy are greatly appreciated. We ask that you do not donate chocolate since it melts if and when the weather turns warm. Candy pieces should be small enough to fit inside the standard plastic eggs. There is large basket in the Narthex for your donations. Thank you so much! It’s hard to say who enjoys the Easter Egg Hunt more– the little ones or adults watching the children discovering the eggs!
Many hands make light work!! Your deacons need your help! We have a list of spring cleaning chores to freshen up our grounds and maintain the building. The plan is to complete indoor chores on Friday night from 5:00 – 8:00 and the outdoor chores the following Saturday morning from 8:00 – 12:30. We have a do-able list and if small groups send 1 or two members to help, we plan to be done by noon. Volunteers can come to one or both work times. Sign up sheets are in the Narthex.
On Easter Sunday there will be an Easter Dinner on the Grounds. We also have an annual Easter Egg Hunt after that meal for the young children which is a delight to watch! If you would like to coordinate the Egg Hunt, please contact Diane McGowan @ (706) 315-8521. We have plenty of plastic eggs on hand and will be placing a basket for candy donations in the Narthex next week.
