Congratulations to Jeff Barkhouse, who passed his ordination examination this week with a unanimous vote by our presbytery. We have to wait to call him “Reverend Barkhouse” until June 30th when he will be officially ordained during our church service!
Our Vacation Bible School will be June 10—14 from 9:00—noon daily. All children ages 4 through rising 5th graders are invited to come! Our theme is “Fruit of the Spirit” and you don’t want to miss the fun! For more information or to volunteer please contact Diane McGowan @ 706-315-8521. The pre-registration desk is located at the end of the hall to your right as you exit the sanctuary. Deadline for VBS registration is May 31st.
This year in our worship we are using the New City Catechism. This is a confession and teaching resource put together by The Gospel Coalition using the structure and language of some of the great historic confessions used by the church. There is a web address for this catechism and an app that can be downloaded for personal and home use:
Easter comes early this year! We have a Good Friday Noon Service on March 29th in the sanctuary and Dinner on the Grounds following our Easter worship service, Sunday, March 31st. The dinner is an opportunity to invite family, neighbors and co-workers to join us in our celebration of the resurrection and enjoy a wonderful meal together. The church supplies the meat and drinks and members supply the delicious side dishes and casseroles. We’ll put out sign-up sheets in the Narthex next week.
The Bible explains that elders in the church are called as shepherds to provide spiritual guidance and encouragement. The elders at St. Andrews are available each Sunday for those who have questions or who need some assistance in some way. Any of the worship leaders, musicians or ushers can help you locate one of the elders present this morning. They would be glad to pray with you or to speak with you so do not hesitate to contact them with any need you have or any concern.
The small groups at St. Andrews are forming now for the year. These groups are where we covenant together to know and follow Jesus Christ together and where we practice the “one anothers” of the Bible.
We will have groups that meet Sunday, some on Tuesday and some on Wednesday.
To find a group or for more information about groups call the office – 706 327 7750
On June 17th, St. Andrews will have a night of Worship as the musicians at the church will be introducing their new album – Safely Home. This will be a fun filled night with opportunities for fellowship and worship with our Sovereign Lord and Creator. There will also be opportunities to purchase this album and take a copy home with you! Mark it on your calendar:

The elders ordained or re-committed were AJ Morris, Doug Emerich, and Dimon Kendrick-Holmes. The deacons installed were John Anderson, Jim Jackson, and Chris Gibson. We are excited about and thankful for the leadership that God has provided here and continue to look for his provision of wisdom and discernment as St. Andrews enters it’s next phase.
