SAPC KIDS

Mission Statement

The mission of the Children’s Ministries of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church is to proclaim the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, our only hope in life and death, and to provide an inviting environment where children and their families can fellowship with and encourage one another and grow together toward maturity in Christ.

Sunday Mornings

Two of our most important ministries for children, Sunday School and Children’s Church, take place on Sunday mornings.

Sunday School, which runs from 9:30 to 10:30 AM every Sunday morning provides an opportunity for us to teach children the truths of God’s Word (the Bible) in a way that more understandable for them. Children not only learn the stories of the Bible, but also the overarching story of God’s Word, which is God choosing a people for Himself and saving those people through His Son Jesus Christ.

Children’s Church is a ministry for PreK4 - Kindergarten children during the sermon portion of the worship service. The children hear a lesson about "How to Worship in Big Church" that includes age appropriate activities and crafts. Parents pick up their children from the classroom after the service has ended.

clubtime!

CLUBTIME is for students in 1st-6th grade and held every other Sunday evening throughout the school year. This program involves a large group Bible lesson, small group Scripture memory activities, and Gametime. Supper is optional if you would like to provide your own sack supper to eat at the church at 5:30 PM before CLUBTIME begins at 6 PM.

Vacation bible school (VBS)

VBS is an exciting ministry where kids can have lots of fun and can learn about God’s great love for them in the person of Jesus Christ. Kids have an opportunity to sing, play games, enjoy fun crafts, hear Bible lessons from adults in costume, and fellowship with other children their age. VBS is held each summer for one week in mid-June.

Children's special events

  • trunk or treat

Trunk or Treat is an annual event for the entire family that take place in late October.  Trunk or Treat offers a time of church-wide fellowship as we enjoy food and games for all ages.

  • Christmas Pageant

Each year children age 4 years to 4th grade re-tell the story of Jesus' coming from the prophesies of Isaiah to angel of the Lord declaring His birth! This is one of the most cherished events of Advent and one the entire church family is invited to attend.

  • Easter Egg hunt

Following our annual Easter lunch on the grounds, St. Andrews hosts an Easter Egg Hunt for our children. This lunch gathering is a wonderful time to fellowship and celebrate the resurrection of our Lord on this special Sunday each year. And what child doesn’t love an Easter Egg filled with candy!

  • Field Trips

Occasionally throughout the year there are events happening close by that we participate in as a group. Some of these field trips from the past include the Flying High Circus at Callaway Gardens, the Shepherd’s Walk at the Biblical History Center and plays performed around town.
