Women in the church (wic)

The WIC (“Women in the Church”) ministry of St. Andrews seeks to gather women of all ages in the church together for the purpose of fellowship, encouragement, and discipleship. WIC has several large and small group activities as well as sub-ministries designed to meet the individual needs of each woman.

Liz Brooks (pictured to the left) currently serves as the head of the WIC Committee.  She may be reached by email by clicking here.

WIC has several programs and ongoing and annual events.  Please contact us if you would like to be involved in any of the areas below.

See the events page for this women's gatherings this week!

annual women's retreat

The Annual Women's Retreat is the marquee event for the year. This annual event has traditionally been held during a weekend in the winter and is dedicated to growth, spiritual encouragement, and fellowship. We encourage all of the women to attend and do provide scholarships if needed.

The most recent Women's Retreat was held March 3-5, 2017 at Creekside Lodge on Lake Martin.

WIC Quarterly luncheons

We meet quarterly after the Sunday Morning Worship Service to fellowship and to hear testimonies from women in the Church.

Our next quarterly luncheon is July 9th.  Check the bulletin or the Bagpiper newsletter in your email for more info.  Click here to email the church office and request the newsletter.

Thursday'S Apron

These events are unique ways for women to experience fellowship and community.  Each event is designed to promote one or more of the areas: "Laugh, Listen, Learn, Love."

Thursday's Apron events are held on the 4th Thursday of every month.  We meet at the Church at 7:00 p.m.

At one event, we asked the women to bring a canvas of choice and we learned to "Paint with Alison." The Church provided the paint and brushes, as well as light snacks and drinks.

These events are ongoing.  If you have any questions or need more information, contact Juli Pope by clicking here

Titus 2

Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine.  They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self controlled, pure, working at home, kind and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.  Titus 2:3-5, ESV

This program seeks to match ladies with a mentor.  In the past we have had home fellowships in order to foster these relationships.  We currently utilize our time at our quarterly luncheons to try to develop these relationships.

We believe that these relationships are important.  If you would like more information, please email Paula Anderson by clicking here

artisan fridays

"Share and Care" seeks primarily to help provide meals for church members who are in need because of a new baby, an illness, or hospitalization.  Ideally, church Small Groups will provide for most needs.  However, if a need arises for a church member that is not involved in a small group, or the need is substantial, the WIC committee is ready to assist.
