Why Small Groups?
We are committed to ministry through groups because we find that pattern in the Bible (Jesus’ training of the twelve and the house groups in the Book of Acts) and because that is the most effective means of allowing for accountability and acceptance. As believers we grow best when we are in such relationships with one another. Most of the commands and most of the promises of the Bible are stated to the plural you rather than the singular you – not you individually butyou all. They are intended to be obeyed and to be claimed by believers joined in community. (For a list of these see our page on The TOGETHERS of Scripture)
Outside of our Sunday Morning Worship the ministry of small groups is the thing that most shapes us as a church and is the vehicle through which we pursue our purpose. It is through groups that we shepherd the church, join together in nurture and mission, and move toward maturity as believers in Christ.
